Goal:

 

To effectively and efficiently manage, in terms of prevention and control, SEVERE ACUTE RESPIRATORY SYNDROME (SARS) in Manila Doctors Hospital (MDH).

 

Objectives:

 

1.    To formulate hospital-wide policies and strategies in the prevention and control of SARS in MDH.

2.    To supervise and coordinate the implementation of the formulated policies and strategies.

3.    To evaluate the MDH SARS prevention and control program.

 

Organizational Chart:

 

Directly under the Office of the Hospital Director (or Assistant Hospital Director).

 

Chairperson and members appointed by the Hospital Director

 

Multisectoral membership – all sectors involved in the management of SARS are represented.

Job Description:

 

Chairman of the Task Force:

         

          Reports to Hospital Director

 

          General duties and responsibilities:

Plans, directs, supervises, and evaluates all activities of the task force.

 

          Qualifications:

                   Member of top management

With track records of managing task forces in a systematic and

visible manner using quality management principles.

 

Members of the Task Force:

         

Reports to Chair of Task Force

 

Sector coordinators

 

          Collaborates in the planning, implementing, and evaluating the

hospital-wide prevention and control program on SARS.

 

          Plans, directs, supervises, and evaluates all activities on prevention

and control of SARS in respective sectors.

 

          Qualifications:

         

                   Managerial staff of the sectors

                   With track records of dependability and systematic way of doing

things.

                  

 

Quality Objectives:

 

Prevention:

          NO SARS patient admitted in MDH

 

Control:

          If there is a SARS patient in MDH,

                   NO staff infected with SARS

                   NO client (patient) infected with SARS

                   NO mortality from SARS

 

Accomplished in the most effective and efficient manner possible.

Maximal collaboration of all staff.

Maximal cooperation of public.

Near-zero or minimum number of complaints
